...Continued from yesterday: We eventually managed to pull the children away from the Children's Village (see yesterday's post), ...for a quick dip in the pool,
...a homey place, ...hung with Amish quilts. ...where we ordered the buffet, well-stocked with tasty (and oh,-so-calorific) down-home cooking,
...and a flower maze also at the edge of the restaurant property where one could play, ...and watch the interesting sights.
...where the girls were anxious to run across the grounds, now all lit up and pretty, ...back to the Children's Village, which also took on a magical glow in the night.
...and they all decided to put on a dance recital in the Village ballet studio.
...and Tommy, who drew his inspiration from and did a pretty decent rendition of the Landlord's Dance Recital scene in "The Big Lebowski." The following morning after breakfast at the hotel's buffet, ...where they serve these fresh, gooey iced cinnamon rolls to die for, ...we checked out of the Berlin Resort, but of course before leaving we had to make one more visit to the Children's Village, ...where I discovered that my card was accepted for credit.
After our visit to the farm we headed to the nearby town of Charm, ...for lunch at the Charm Family Restaurant, ....where we indulged in the oh-so-satisfying comfort cuisine, ...including an Amish specialty known as Church Spread. When I asked the waitperson what was in the Church Spread, she informed me that it was a mixture of peanut butter, marshmallow, brown sugar, and corn syrup. How sweet is was.
