​Donald Trump Feels Honored To Be Chairman Of The Kennedy Center. (Especially Since He Appointed Himself).

​      Oh, that Number 47​ is such a card!
     He fires the board members of the John F.  Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., our national cultural center for theater, music, and dance,

​​...and fills the board with his loyalist lackeys who immediately elect him, Donald Trump, chairman of the board! 
      And then  - here's the punchline, wait for it - Trump posts this on his social media: "It's such an honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center."

      What a hoot this would be, how we'd all laugh, if it wasn't happening in our country. 
          Shortly after his self-appointment to chairman of the Kennedy Center board Trump told reporters, “I’m going to be chairman of it, and we’re going to make sure that it’s good and it’s not going to be woke. There’s no more woke in this country.” 
            And just to make sure there would be no more "woke" at the Kennedy Center, Trump's first action as chairman of the board was to fire the Center's working president, Deborah Rutter, 

...and replace her with Richard Grenell, his former acting director of national intelligence,

...who, presumably, will now be using his intelligence skills to root out any "woke" among the staff of the Kennedy Center, where's it's been reported that a climate of fear has already settled in.
        Sadly, but not surprisingly, the Kennedy Center is now bleeding its major artistic talent.
            Opera superstar Renee Fleming is stepping down as artistic adviser.     

        Prolific composer and singer Ben Folds is leaving his position as adviser to the National Symphony. 

      Television producer and film writer Shonda Rhimes has resigned as Kennedy Center  treasurer.

        Actress Issa Rae cancelled her sold-out show at the Kennedy Center and is returning ticket money.

​     Donald Trump, who, by the way, never attended a single Kennedy Center  event during his first term, has promised as chairman to usher in a "Golden Age in Arts and Culture." And I expect he'll have plenty of time to spend on his self-appointed chairmanship of the Kennedy Center since he's pretty much turned the Presidency of the United States over to Elon Musk along with, it appears,  Musk's 4-year-old son.

       The child, whose name is X Æ A-Xii, was caught on video apparently telling Donald Trump that he, Trump, wasn't President and that he needed to go away (one wonders from where the child picked that up.       (Poor child. Seriously, I do hope that X Æ A-Xii is just a show moniker Elon pins on his son for media attention, and that the child's real name is Thomas, or Liam, or Ethan, or something that won't cause him grief in the school yard).
        So, just as Führer Adolph Hitler appointed Joseph Goebbels his Minister of Culture to purge German culture of Jewish influences and other artistic contributions suspected of  not promoting Nazi ideology and policy, so Chairman Donald  is purging our national cultural center of any influences suspected of promoting civil rights, social justice, and treating others as we would have them treat us (aka "woke") or celebrating  American Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (aka DEI) or anything else that goes against the MAGA ideology and policy.
        Interestingly, currently playing at the  Kennedy Center is a ballet called "Crime and Punishment." 

      Under the new administration a more appropriate title would be "Crime and No Punishment."
