So after acquiring some awesome self-stick gems and glittery paper from Michael's we got to work on our poster, ...of which we were quite proud when it hung next to the other posters. The feast took place on the day before Thanksgiving in the schul next to the school, festively decorated for the occasion.
...followed by lots of running around. After we returned home from the feast the girls, still feeling festive, were in the mood for a little Hanukkah, so I lit the menorah for them, which they took turns blowing out. That evening we returned, by popular demand, to Mama D's in Manhattan Beach (see yesterday's post) for some more yummy food, ...and, of course, another foray into the Treasure Chest (see yesterday's post).
...before returning home.
Then we took a drive out to beautiful San Pedro Beach, ...to wade among the tide pools,
...and enjoy the breath-taking panoramas. When lunch time rolled around we headed towards home, six hungry humans wondering if we might find along the way a restaurant opened on Thanksgiving. What we did find open was a Whole Foods with an awesome food bar,
...which we ate in the pleasantly crowded dining section. I was amazed to see so many people in Whole Foods eating lunch, ...and shopping, ...on the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day. Maybe they already had their turkeys in the oven. Or maybe, like us, they were invited out for Thanksgiving dinner. We were invited for dinner at my son-in-law's family's house,
...for the guests, ...who enjoyed the delicious hors d'oeuvres, ...followed by the delicious dinner, for which I provided the mashed potatoes,
