THE MYSTERIOUS TEA SET

This week Tom and I are  in Los Angeles visiting my daughter and son-in-law and our two grandbabies.
Last night a package arrived at their home  from Amazon addressed to both my  grand daughters.
The package held this beautiful box:

Picture

...Inside of which was this lovely little tea set:

Picture
The girls were delighted with the surprise and, remembering the "tea party" we'd had last week during their visit to Columbus with some friends of mine and some of their grandchildren at Coffee Time,*:
Picture
...my 3-year-old grand daughter Makaila immediately wanted to play tea party with her parents and little sister.
As soon as she woke up this morning the girls wanted to have another tea party with their dad.
I promised her we'd have more tea parties later today with Grammie and Grandpa after their parents left for work.
This tea set was a wonderful idea and a thoughtful gift.  There's only one problem with it:  We have absolutely no idea who sent it.
No card, packing slip, or paperwork of any kind accompanied the tea set.  The only information we have is a USPS tracking number and return address on the box from Amazon Fulfillment Services, 3837 Bay Lake Trail, Suite 115, North Las Vegas, Nevada .
Justin and Maria have no idea who to  thank for this gem of a gift.  They don't know who to tell their children to thank.  They're troubled to think that the giver may think that their gift was not acknowledged or appreciated or loved.
And so they are intending to attempt to contact Amazon to try and track down the sender of the tea set.  But this may take time, especially with today being New Years Eve and tomorrow being New Years Day.
But in the meantime I'm trying to help by sending out this message on the ever-so-slender thread of a chance that someone reading this post might know something about the mysterious tea set.
So:  Did anyone out there send a beautiful little tea set to two little California girls?

*Coffee Time is a charming locally -owned cafe and pastry shop on Johnstown Road in Gahanna, Ohio:
Picture
Picture
It's  spacious and cozy at the same time and as it has a children's play area.  It's  a great  place for parents of small children to meet for an outing:

So, people of Gahanna, go visit Coffee time if you haven't already!

Patti, for some reason Amazon never sends a gift card with their merchandize. Sarah and Brad had quite a time figuring who sent what. I am not sure if you must request a gift card somewhere on their site or not. Regardless, those sweet girls have a neat gift!

Thanks for the info, Molina. That's amazing that amazon doesn't send gift cards, considering how many people order gifts from Amazon. It must have been crazy for Sarah and Brad trying to figure out who gave what, but at least if people don't receive thank-you's for their wedding gifts they usually eventually call or inquire if the gifts were received. I know I once had a wedding gift sent from Target that lacked a card and the poor bride had no idea until I called who had given her the gift. So I do hope that if we can't figure out who sent it the sender will eventually call. Thanks, again, Molina! Happy New year!

One of my Facebook friends just suggested that maybe it was the bad taxi driver who wanted to do something nice for us! LOL!

I received a child's 5 pack of sunbve socks in mail today. It was sent from the same address as your tea set. I did not order them. It had no packing list or gift card in with it. I can't find any record of it being purchased. Just wondering if you found out who the tea set was from. Let me know when you find out please. Thank you.

I have now received THREE mysterious packages from amazon prime?...the packages have my full name, my address and my phone number?...I was not charged for these items, but it is still creeping me out that someone is using my name and address to ship items too? and ESPECIALLY that they have my cell phone #?

I chatted with amazon yesterday about this, and they told me that they could not disclose the persons (who is ordering these items and sending them to my address) full name, but his first name is Paul???

I can NOT believe that this stranger has all of my personal info and is using me to ship his items, and the only thing amazon has to say, is not to worry because Im not being charged, and that I can always send the items back in exchange for an amazon gift card??

So now I feel like I would be the one pulling a scam?

SAME thing with me. I’m on item number 7 right now. I’ve been out of town and had 8 Amazon packages, only one of which I actually ordered. It’s weird stuff like ski goggles, 3 phone cases, shoe inserts and 2 shirts. I didn’t order any of it; called Amazon, got the same answer as you. They came from the same place in Las Vegas. I do not get it! I don’t want the stuff and I feel creeped out, too. Do you have any more information? Are you still getting packages? Thanks so much!

My 15 year old son just received a package from this same address in an Amazon Prime envelope.....but there was nothing in it. Just empty. I do not understand what is happening or why anyone would send this to my child.

I received a mystery box with a sweet little stuffed dog in it and as the rest of us, no card or packing slip. I lost a precious little dog on Jan 14, 2019 and I made a post about her on Facebook just last week, so don't know if someone who knew me on FB sent it or someone else sent the gift . I so appreciate the little gift so much and Thank You whoever you are!

I received a Knife I did not order from the same address. There is a scam called "brushing". The "supposed" brand of this chinese made knife from Amazon is the same "Brand" as a grease gun I ordered off of Ebay last week..... Interesting... Pretty nice knife for a chinese spring assisted knife with a glass breaker and a seat belt cutter, something I would of ordered if i still worked as a firefighter...still, very strange to get something you did not order..

As it turns out my gift "knife" was indeed, sent by the same people I bought my Grease gun from on ebay , but sent through Amazon, with no card or anything, the only thing I had to go on was the return address on the package. They said they sent it as a gift , I asked them about the scam called "Brushing" but they insisted it was just to promote business... I did write my own review of their 'gift knife" .... I would have been a bit upset if they sent a "gift knife" to my 4 year old, because he would have insisted it was "his" and would have wanted to keep it ....lol... so far no more free goodies have come ... He would like a "Tea set" though....lol

So we moved out of our last house two years ago, our UPS driver there texted me and said there’s a package for my husband that’s going to our old address, I said OK I’m not missing anything. So it was forwarded to us, it’s from Las Vegas from Amazon, and no gift card no nothing it’s three little pots on a stand and it’s so ugly I have no idea who sent it it’s hilarious So it was forwarded to us, it’s from Las Vegas from Amazon, and no gift card no nothing it’s three little pots on a stand and it’s so ugly I have no idea who sent it it’s hilarious

Good morning.
I have had 7 items delivered from the same address that I did not order. Thankfully none of my credit cards have been charged. They came without packaging slips, no return shipping labels.
I googled this and its a type of scam called a "brushing scam".
The downfall is that these companies know your info. Right now I'm trying to call their number but no one is pickong up on the other end. In the meantime I think I will be expecting more to come.

I got the world smallest roll of Teflon tape. The pipe sealing tape from the same address... I wonder if we all signed up for the review thing. I forgot what it’s called. Maybe this is from businesses hoping we will leave a review of the product.

Two packages arrived today delivered with Amazon Prime. I do not have an Amazon Prime account and did not order these items. They were so odd - a box of 100 gardening stakes and a box of toothbrush tops for a kind of toothbrush I don't have. I checked my bank account and saw 4 Amazon POS purchases - none of which were mine. In fact, it's been nearly a year since I have ordered anything on Amazon. I immediately called my bank and had my debit card cancelled. (Total inconvenience - I won't have a new card for a week.) Then I went to my Amazon account and scrubbed all personal info - my address and phone number. I went to the payments area and removed the one credit card listed on my account. The odd thing is - my bank debit card (which was billed for 4 Amazon purchases) wasn't even listed on my Amazon account. I've never even used it to order online. I called Amazon and gave the tracking numbers for both packages. They said they couldn't tell who made the purchases because it was locked (possibly due to my already reporting it to my bank.) They said that the charges for the two packages I had received did match two of the four purchases placed on my debit card. So two more packages could still arrive. Amazon was baffled that I not only received the mysterious packages, but was billed for them. Totally bizarre and random. Luckily my bank is crediting the 4 purchases, which were all under $20. Now I have to watch out to see if anyone tries to review the items in my name.
So weird!!

This happens , it happened to be too this year (2020) , there was no access via my Amazon account, yet I had a charge. Was told this happens a lot , they randomly find a card number that works via a computer program and use it with a fake amazon account , so they get their purchase , it shows on your card, but not your amazon account.

I just received a package on Sunday delivered by USPS from the same address you referenced. Tracking originates at an “Amazon Fulfillment Center.” No other info available. Problem is, it is addressed to my daughter who is a MINOR. I’m having this investigated.

Got our 3rd package from that address ste 111 ( a little kids tent) a total of 3 in 3 weeks. So far no charges anywhere, but I'll check again. At least it was not seeds, but those seem to be China post. At least I see this has been going on for a while and we are not alone.

We got a different package from the same address that we did not order either. I am thinking it is a scam called Brushing where your address is sent stuff to give credibility to a company. Then they can put up positive comments about them that amazon can track.

Deborah, I highly doubt you'll be charged for the watch you received but didn't order. I've since learned a little about these mysterious unordered Amazon products that sometimes show up at people's houses. I've included some info on the subject in the following blog post from last year, "The Mysterious Thingies." (You'll need to scroll down about halfway through the page for the part about the "scrubbers" who send these items and why they do): https://www.ailantha.com/blog/the-mysterious-thingies
