​JUST ANOTHER RIDE ON THE TRUMP TRAIN

     So the world was shocked, disgusted, aghast, disappointed, and all the other adjectives after Tuesday night's debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden?

     Aw, c'mon, really? Nobody was expecting the debate to play out exactly as it did - or even worse than it did - with Trump turning the event into a Trump-themed Sh*tshow? Seriously?

    Or am I just some kind of clairvoyant? Because in my previous blog, posted on the day of the debate, I said of the upcoming event: "...millions of Americans will be sitting on  the edge of our sofas, glued to our TV sets to watch the fight and by tomorrow morning, after the dust has settled - or the gore mopped up - and the post-match analysis done, the winner will be announced...So why bother? What purpose is served at this point by a debate that as of now promises to be nothing more than a nasty, possibly excruciating, spectacle?" ​      Am I really the only one who saw the train wreck -  the description now being used to describe the spectacle of the debate - coming? Surely not? In fact I'd even venture to say that what we saw on Tuesday night wasn't so much a train wreck as just another whistle stop on the Trump train that we've all been riding for the last four years. 
    What we saw on that debate stage was nothing other than a classic, vintage, typical, predictable  Trump production.
      And to conflate Joe Biden's behavior during the debate with Donald Trump's is false and wrong. Biden has  participated in numerous election year debates with opponents,     

...most recently during the Democratic primaries,

...and he has never behaved in a manner that garnered any such criticism, nor did his opponents.

       Still, anyone who wishes to reproach Joe Biden's behavior during his debate with Donald Trump should just bear in mind that nobody can take on a swine without getting splashed with mud.
         No offense meant to the animals.
